Mingus Mountain Scenic Drive

Mingus Mountain Scenic Drive

Time to take in some sights! After resting for a couple days and catching my breath after this past 3 weeks of activities, I decided I wanted to take in some of the sights in the area that I have overlooked. One of them that I had heard of and read a little bit about, was the 89A Scenic Drive North out of Jerome, Arizona. Now I had been to Jerome as it is a tourist and Scenic destination by…

Trip Back & Settling in to Arizona

Trip Back & Settling in to Arizona

The last few days before leaving, I was a little sad. It’s always hard to make changes. Especially flying away from family and home… way back to Arizona. 😬 I’ve done this so much, I know I have to go to the goodbyes before I can turn my attention to what is next. Neil and I were at the airport by 7:00 a.m. I had checked in and paid for checking my bag online ahead of time. I just went…

Surgery and Recovery

Surgery and Recovery

Once the decision was made that I would fly back to Wisconsin for the surgery, Thedacare was excellent at scheduling me in as soon as I arrived. Many appointments were already set up before I even got to Wisconsin. I flew out Tuesday, March 15th, landed around 5:00 p.m. and got to Nathan’s that evening. The next day I was in Oshkosh at my Thedacare clinic getting a pre-surgery check up . All went well. 👍 The next day I…

Getting Ready to Leave for Surgery

Getting Ready to Leave for Surgery

It has been a very hectic and busy time, with periods of relaxation, since I hit the ground in Wisconsin in preparation for my surgery. But I would like to share the journey TO Wisconsin before getting on to the surgery. There were a lot of little as well as big things to take care of first. So, here goes. Improving my Appearance. 😬 The one thing I just could NOT do for myself was wash my hair. It was…

Broken wrist update

Broken wrist update

It’s amazing the limitations one experiences when their wrist is injured or broken, especially the dominant wrist. Although I expected things to be difficult, I did not realize that I would have no pinch grip, and absolutely no strength at all in my fingers. I could not grip or pick up anything without breakthrough pain. It was amazing. Not even an empty hanger, a spoon, etc. And try to open a bottle of water or soda! My left hand did not…

Krazy K RV Park

Krazy K RV Park

Let me introduce you to the home I have had for a month, Krazy K RV Park. This is the type of place that truly reflects the statement,” I came for a day and stayed for a week…a month, …a year, all of the above! It’s a small RV Park and it has everything you would want , but on a smaller scale. 😉 One downside, is that it is close to interstate I-17. A bit off on the other…

Sedona- Fay Canyon

Sedona- Fay Canyon

When the weather is good, I want to try to get out and just go for walks, not hikes. I need to keep my circulation going. So I did look up an easy hike to Fay Canyon and I went there on March 2nd. There are two main roads into Sedona from interstate 17. They meet in downtown Sedona in an area known as the “Y”. Directions are given to different parts of Sedona referencing the “Y”. Cathedral Rock and…

Disaster

Disaster

I don’t know how to write about this really. I was going down a couple steps of my RV and leaning to my right to get a good look at the beautiful sunset to my left and tripped and fell and broke my wrist. 😱😭 I don’t know about others, but when I break something I know immediately. I think it’s a combination of feeling the break and the shock that went through my system. It was if my whole…

Sedona’s Grail- Cathedral Rock

Sedona’s Grail- Cathedral Rock

February 15,2022 Prologue I don’t know how to begin, except to say that one of the main reasons I came to Sedona- besides all the beauty and hiking opportunities-👍😊 was to scale Cathedral Rock. 12 years ago a friend and I made it to the top and I was blown away! It’s beauty brought tears to my eyes . My friend began to sing America the Beautiful. VERY apropos! It was unexpected emotions! It just happened. …And that was before…
