Indian Creek recreation area
Neither Hurricane Zeta nor any of its storms reached the Chicot State Park area. 😬👏 We had a little rain the first day but the second day was sunny and clear. The cold front that came through was wonderful. It took the humidity out of the air and the temperatures were in the 50s and 60s! I didn’t realize that I missed wearing jeans and enjoying a hot cup of coffee!! 😀👍
But today is Friday and Chicot state park is filled for the weekend. This is also Halloween weekend. Every state park in Louisiana is celebrating Halloween and a number of these Regional parks are as well so they are booked solid! The RVers put up Halloween decorations and the kids go trick-or-treating.
I was on the phone this morning to Indian Creek recreation area. This is an area that John and Dee recommended and it is only an hour north of where I was. They were also booked but they have an overflow area in a parking area near the beach. I was able to get one of the last two slots! Now there are no services here in the lot so I don’t have any electricity unless I choose to run my generator. All my lights and my heat will run off of my RV batteries. I am charging my phone in my truck with an adapter. 😅 I may need to start up my generator tomorrow but we’ll see.
The area I am in has seven other RVs parked here and quite a few families with little kids. I’m sure they will be trick or treating tomorrow night!! 🧙 There is a lake, beach, trees, grass and cement picnic tables all around this lot. It is really pretty. Way better than staying over in a Walmart parking lot!!! 😬
I will be staying here over the weekend and then I will see if I can get a regular site for maybe the rest of the week. I will see…
pictures and more details next time 🤗
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃 EVERYONE!! 🕷️🕷️
